Guidance for Every Stage of the Path

From a first divination to ongoing spiritual companionship, every offering is rooted in authentic tradition and shaped around your need.

Ifá Consultation

Divination

Ifá Consultation

An Ifá consultation is not a prediction session. It is a structured conversation between you and the wisdom held in the 256 Odù Ifá. The Babalawo casts the ikin (palm nuts) or opele (divining chain), reads the Odù that emerges, and recites the ẹsẹ Ifá, the sacred verses that speak to your situation.

The session covers identifying the Odù, reciting the relevant ẹsẹ Ifá, prescribing ebo (a ritual offering) where it is needed, and giving clear guidance on the way forward. Every reading is conducted with full ceremonial respect.

What to Expect

Initial sessions usually last about 90 minutes. Bring your questions, but hold them lightly. The Odù tends to speak to what matters most, not only to what was asked.

How to Prepare

Come with a sincere heart and an open mind. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Dress modestly.

Remote Divination

Remote

Remote Divination

The wisdom of the Odù is not limited by distance. Remote consultations happen over video call and follow the same protocol as meeting in person. The Babalawo casts on your behalf, reads the Odù, and delivers the reading in full, along with any ebo that is prescribed.

Remote sessions have been offered since 2020 and work well for seekers who cannot travel to Abèókútà. We assess compatibility before a full session is scheduled.

What to Expect

Sessions last 60–90 minutes. A stable internet connection is required. The reading is delivered in English and Yoruba.

How to Prepare

Find a quiet, private space. Have water nearby. Be prepared to be fully present for the duration.

Holistic Healing

Holistic Healing

Holistic healing in the Ìṣẹ̀ṣe tradition is a process rather than a single ritual. It begins with divination to find the root of the imbalance, which may be ancestral, environmental, relational, or spiritual, and then moves through a set of prescriptions that address each layer in turn.

Herbal preparations, spiritual baths, and specific rituals may be prescribed, depending on what the Odù reveals. This is not alternative medicine in the modern sense. It is a complete, ancient way of understanding what it means for a person to be well.

What to Expect

An initial consultation is required before a healing program is designed. Duration and scope vary significantly by individual situation.

How to Prepare

Bring any recent medical information if relevant. Be prepared for a thorough spiritual assessment.

Community Gatherings

Community

Community Gatherings

The tradition has never been a solitary practice. Community matters. When people who share a devotion to the Orishas and the wisdom of the ancestors gather, they create a field of àṣẹ that no private practice can match.

Regular events at the temple include teaching on Yoruba cosmology, seasonal festivals tied to the sacred calendar, and open ceremonies for those new to the tradition who wish to observe and learn.

What to Expect

Events are listed on the blog. Most are open to all sincere seekers. Some ceremonies are restricted to initiates.

How to Prepare

White or light-coloured clothing is appropriate for most events. Remove shoes before entering the temple.

Odún Ifá Ceremony

Ceremony

Odún Ifá Ceremony

The Odún Ifá, the annual Ifá festival, is the centre around which the sacred year turns. It is a time of communal divination for the year ahead, of thanksgiving, of initiation, and of deep realignment with the tradition.

Oba Ifarotimi takes part in the yearly Odún Ifá at the Atoriseologoise Temple and opens parts of the ceremony to the wider community. The festival follows the protocol set by his initiating lineage.

What to Expect

The Odún Ifá typically spans several days. Specific dates are determined by the sacred calendar. Contact the temple for the current year's dates.

How to Prepare

Advanced notice and registration is required. White clothing is mandatory. Fasting may be prescribed for participants.

Spiritual Guidance

Guidance

Spiritual Guidance

Beyond a single consultation, some seekers want ongoing companionship on the path, someone who knows their Ori, their Orisha, and their spiritual history, and can offer guidance as life unfolds.

This is offered only to those who have completed at least one full Ifá consultation, and only after an assessment of compatibility. It is a serious commitment on both sides, in keeping with the bond between a Babalawo and his spiritual children.

What to Expect

This is not a subscription service. It is a relationship, entered into with intention and maintained with integrity.

How to Prepare

Contact the temple with a brief account of your current spiritual practice and what you are seeking.
