A body of knowledge so vast and internally consistent that UNESCO recognised it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Ifá is far more than divination in the everyday sense of the word. It is the philosophical, historical, and ethical archive of Yoruba civilisation, a body of knowledge so vast and internally consistent that UNESCO recognised the Ifá divination system as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2005.
At its centre stands Orunmila, the Orisha of wisdom, who witnessed the destiny given to every soul at the moment of creation. His priests, the Babalawo, or “fathers of secrets,” reach his knowledge through the Opón Ifá and ikin, moving through the 256 Odù to find the verse that speaks to the seeker’s situation.
The system does not foretell a fixed outcome. It reveals the forces at work in a situation, the older patterns that echo the seeker’s circumstances, and the specific actions, or restraints, that bring them into step with their Ori and the will of the Orishas.
The Ifá corpus is built around 256 Odù, sacred patterns formed by the binary marks of sixteen palm nuts. Each Odù holds hundreds of ẹsẹ Ifá: narrative verses that carry mythic events, ethical teaching, herbal knowledge, and ritual prescription.
The Opón Ifá is the divination board, a carved wooden tray dusted with sacred powder, on which the Babalawo marks the Odù patterns. Its round form stands for the wholeness of the cosmos, and Eshu's image on the upper edge honours the messenger who makes all communication possible.
The divination is conducted with either sixteen ikin (sacred palm nuts) cast by hand, or an opele (divining chain). Ikin casting is considered the more senior practice and produces deeper readings. The opele is used for quicker consultations.
Where a reading shows an imbalance or a specific spiritual need, the Odù prescribes ebo, a ritual offering or action that brings the seeker back into step with the right spiritual force. Ebo is not a bribe. It is realignment.

Use the contact form or WhatsApp to introduce yourself and state your need. An initial response is provided within 48 hours to assess compatibility.
02
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before the session. Dress modestly. Come with your questions, but hold them lightly. The Odù will speak to what is most needed.
03
The Babalawo conducts the full casting protocol. The Odù is identified. The relevant ẹsẹ Ifá are recited and interpreted. Any ebo prescription is communicated.
No. Ifá speaks to the human condition, not to ethnicity. Seekers from all backgrounds are welcome. What is required is sincerity, respect for the protocol, and an open mind.
Consultations are conducted in Yoruba and English. The sacred verses are recited in Yoruba; the reading and guidance are delivered in English for non-Yoruba speakers.
Ebo is the ritual prescription that can come out of a consultation, an offering or action set by the Odù to address the situation it reveals. It is not always required, and when it is, its form varies.
Initial consultations typically last 90 minutes. Follow-up sessions may be shorter depending on the situation.
The Babalawo casts on your behalf. Distance does not weaken the reading, because Ifá speaks to the Ori of the seeker wherever they are. Sessions are held over video call.
