A custodian of authentic Yoruba Ìṣẹ̀ṣe tradition, called, trained, and released into the priesthood of Ifá.

In the Yoruba tradition, the priest is not a self-appointed authority. He is called, trained, and released; the path determined not by ambition but by the will of the Orishas and the guidance of those who came before. Oba Ifarotimi Adifagbola Balogun has walked this path with that understanding from the beginning.
His father, Chief Liadifadare, was the Balogun of Ija-Ofa, a man of standing within the tradition who understood the responsibility of transmission. Under his guidance, the full weight of the Ifá corpus was passed down with care and precision, not as information but as living practice.
Decades of practice across Lagos and Ogun State, from humble beginnings in Agbosule Street to the building of his own villa at Amikanle, shaped the priest that Abèókútà would receive back in 2011. The chieftancy that followed in 2012 was not the beginning of his authority; it was its formal recognition.
“I do not teach what I have not been authorised to teach.”
This is not a limitation. It is a commitment to the integrity that makes the tradition worth preserving. Every reading, every teaching, every ceremony conducted at this temple is offered within the full protocol of what was received.
Initiated into the sacred priesthood of Ifá under the tutelage of his father, Chief Liadifadare, Balogun of Ija-Ofa. The full depth of the tradition was transmitted before freedom was granted to proceed independently.
Departed Abeokuta for Lagos, residing at Agbosule Street, Isaga, to continue his practice and deepen his service as a priest of the tradition.
Moved to Abule Odugbele, behind Army Command, then a large village still surrounded by bush, to continue the work of the tradition in a new environment.
With the backing of the ancestors, built a villa at Surulere, Amikanle. Became the first Oluwo at Amikanle — the Ifá divinator who gave standing to the Akoda-awo at Ilu Ajasa and the Araba at Amikanle.
Returned to his father's hometown to continue Ifá divination from the place of his roots, a homecoming that completed a circle begun at initiation.
Conferred the chieftancy as Oba Isese of Ogun State — a recognition of decades of dedicated practice and the trust of the community in his custodianship of the living tradition.
